CUMBRIA KART RACING CLUB LTD 2026 SUPPLEMENTARY REGULATIONS
1. Cumbria Kart Racing Club Ltd will organize a race meeting on race dates at Lakeland Stadium, Rowrah, Cumbria. The Meeting will be held in accordance with the General Championship Prescriptions of the Royal Automobile Club Motorsport UK (incorporating the provisions of the International Sporting Code of the FIA), the following Supplementary Regulations and any final instructions issued by Cumbria Kart Racing Club Ltd. Minimum licence required is KX
2. Motorsport UK Permit No CH2026/ Motorsport UK Track Licence No. K2026/_156-_01 and 172_01
3. All competitors must produce a current competition licence, Minimum KX, medical certificate if required and a valid club membership card. Competitors under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by the holder of a Kart PG Entrant’s Licence who must sign on as the Entrant of that competitor.
4. Eligible classes are as detailed in the 2026 Motorsport UK Kart Race Year Book and any KTE as appropriate.
5. The meeting will incorporate Championship Rounds as detailed in the raceday programme.
6. Signing-on and scrutineering will be detailed in the final instructions and must be completed before 8.30am on the day of the meeting. Practice (approx.) 09.00/09.30 hours, First race (approx) 09.30/10.00 hours - times will be confirmed in the programme of the day.
7. There will be one timed practice and two heats and a final. Grids will be determined by timed qualifying and by merit for the finals. C.K.R.C. reserve the right to alter grids on the day. Maximum grid is 34 (Gearbox 28 and Bambino 17) .Maximum entry for the meeting is 200. Race duration and Officials will be as detailed in the raceday programme. Trophies will be presented in the ratio of 1 – 4, novices in the ratio of 1-3 in each class (numbers taken from close of official entries).
8. Drivers who fail to take their correct positions on the dummy grid when instructed will start at the rear of the grid. Grids will close 5 minutes before the end of the preceding race.
9. Judicial proceedings will be in accordance with the current Motorsport UK NCR regulations and the Karting Penalty table of mandatory penalties issued by the Motorsport UK..
10 Each competitor will be allowed only one set of slick tyres per meeting and these tyres must be detailed on the online scrutineering form. If any tyre is damaged during the meeting the chief scrutineers will allow a replacement at his discretion, on the grounds of safety and whilst under parc ferme conditions only. Race tyres must be used for the mandatory practice session. The scrutineers may make fuel tests. Any driver suspected of having ineligible fuel after these tests will be obliged to pay a minimum fee of £500 deposit for a Motorsport UK approved fuel test and the race results will be declared provisional. The scrutineers may make tyre tests. Tests may be carried out by a portable detector to detect the application of illegal chemical substances applied to tyres. At the discretion of the Chief Scrutineer, standard parts (eg ignition) or tyres (similar or better tread depth) may be supplied by the organizers and must, if requested, be exchanged. These parts/tyres must be returned in good working order at the end of the meeting, unless the entrants part/tyres has been impounded for testing. Tyres are not allowed to be left at the circuit – each competitor must remove his/her own tyres. Tyres are barcoded and owners traceable – any tyres found left at the circuit will be disposed of and the owner charged the disposal fee paid by CKRC.
11. A yellow line is painted 25m ahead of the start line. It is forbidden to accelerate before having crossed that line and any breach may result in a penalty up to and including exclusion. The starter, along with the Chief Timekeeper, will be a Judge of Fact in respect of race starts. Race starts may be standing or rolling.
12. All results will be published as soon as possible after each race. Lapscoring will be by means of transponders which will be MY LAPS. Transponders MUST BE fitted to all karts and it is the responsibility of the driver to ensure that the transponder is working correctly, the signal is not obscured in any way and the battery is sufficiently charged. These transponders will be used for lapscoring and any timed practice and must be in place and working for practice and race days. Transponders not fitted or not working correctly may result in the competitor not being lap scored or timed and no finishing position will given. Anyone not owning their own transponder will be able to hire one for the meeting from CKRC at a charge of £15.00. Anyone hiring a transponder from CKRC will be responsible for its safe return to CKRC and, if lost or damaged, must pay the full costs of repair or replacing the transponder.
13. SCRUTINEERING – All classes should complete the online scrutineering correctly and this should be done by 8.30am on race day. Competitors must use allocated race numbers and this must be displayed on all 4 sides of the kart. Driver and one mechanic only will be allowed into the scrutineering and parc ferme areas.
14. Noise tests will be undertaken throughout the day, and competitors must conform to the noise regulations as laid down in the current Motorsport UK Kart Race Yearbook. Any competitor found to be excessively noisy will be removed from the circuit.
Motorsport UK regulations no longer allow the running of engines in the pits. The only time an engine can be started is with the permission of the chief scrutineer in a designated area and for a maximum of 10 seconds. The designated area for starting engines, with the Chief Scrutineer permission, is in the parc ferme out bay.
15. Kart Race Year Book regulation App 4 B.9 – No metal sprocket protectors are allowed at CKRC – plastic only.
16. The entry fee is £60.00 for members and £75.00 for non-members and entries are online via the Club website – www.cumbriakrc.co.uk. The Club has the right to refuse any entry not completed in the correct manner. Entry fees will only be refunded if withdrawn prior to the closing date, minus an administration charge of £15.00, transferred entries will also be subject to an administration charge of £10.00. Entries withdrawn after the closing date will not be entitled to a refund. All telephone/fax /email entries will be charged a £10 administration fee Entries open forthwith and close MONDAY morning prior to the meeting. Should a meeting be cancelled or abandoned, a £10.00 administration charge will be levied on all entry fees.

LA15 8NF Late entries may be accepted, at the discretion of the Competition Secretary, to fill grids but may be subject to a late entry fee. Any trophies not collected at the trophy presentation at the end of the meeting will be forfeited.
17. Junior classes may have incident marshals at the discretion of the Clerk of the Course, provided that they have signed on and wear orange hi-viz identification jackets.
18. If a competitor does not complete any lap in the correct manner, i.e.missed chicane, the Clerk of the Course will decided if an unfair advantage has been gained and, if deemed so, that lap will be disallowed and the competitor deemed to be one lap down.
19. Competitors are reminded that flag signals may be replaced with steady or flashing lights to replicate a stationary or waved flag signal. Where a light signal is used instead of a flag signal, the penalty for failing to comply with the light signal shall be the same as the penalty for failing to comply with a flag signal. All warning flags may be given by an appropriately coloured panel digital display.
20. The scales and check weights provided for competitors use are to be deemed correct on the day.
21. No pit bikes, push bikes, model cars, roller skates, scooters, etc. are allowed in the pits (with the exception of official vehicles) Parents are responsible for the behaviour of their children. Vehicles may only be driven in the pits by a person holding that appropriate RTA licence. Any person found to be bringing the Club into disrepute or damaging any area of the pits or track will be subject to the disciplinary procedures of CKRC Ltd.
22. THE CLIMBING OF THE QUARRY BANKS AROUND THE CIRCUIT IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED. THESE AREAS ARE STRICTLY OUT OF BOUNDS. ALL GENERATORS IN THE PITS MUST BE TURNED OFF BY 11P.M.
23.A fire extinguisher, to Kart Race Yearbook must be carried in a competitors vehicle at all times whilst in the pits.
24. Competitors should note that information will be held on computer and is for CKRC information only. A photographer may be present on the day – anyone not wishing to be photographed should inform the Competition Secretary.
25. By entering for the meeting, all competitors, and their associates, commit to the Motorsport UK Race with Respect campaign and agree to positively promote and demonstrate the Racing Code. Penalties may be imposed on any person not observing this.
If any person, driver or connected team members/guardians, is found to be using threatening or abusive language or behaviour at any time in the confines of the stadium, CKRC officials reserve the right to have said people removed from the stadium and they will be reported to the general committee who have the right to impose any disciplinary action deemed necessary on that persons or persons.
26. Whilst we do still allow dogs at the circuit, they are to be kept on a lead at all times, kept within your pit bay area and exercised outside of the circuit gates. Exercising in the paddock area and circuit is not allowed. All dog fouling must be collected and disposed of responsibly.
27. CKRC Complaints procedure – any complaints must be made in writing to the Club Secretary who will bring up the matter at the next available Committee meeting. A reply from the committee will then be send within 10 days of said meeting. The outcome of the Committee decision is final and there will be no further grounds for appeal.
28. A Team is a commercial race company or racing team hosting drivers in providing race services or covered accommodation in the Championship and receiving financial gain where the principal is not also the PG Entrant licence holder. This includes the use of team names, team sticker kits and team race suits/clothing: A Team is a commercial race company or racing team hosting drivers in providing race services or covered accommodation in the Championship and receiving financial gain where the principal is not also the PG Entrant licence holder. This includes the use of team names, team sticker kits and team race suits/clothing: A Team shall at all times uphold and respect the provisions of the Respect Code, the General Regulations and these Championship Regulations as may be amended from time to time and shall; (A) have at least £5 million Public Liability Insurance; (B) uphold the values of the Respect Code and all applicable Motorsport UK policies and guidance; (C) act in a professional manner at all times and not act or permit any member of the Team to act in such a manner as to bring motor sport, the Championship or Motorsport UK or any of its officers and officials into disrespect; (D) adhere to the Motorsport UK Safeguarding Policies and guidance documents, complete Safeguarding training when required and ensure that any person undertaking Regulated Activity is the holder of a valid DBS certificate supplied through Motorsport UK; (E) hold a valid Motorsport UK Entrant licence; (F) adhere to the General Regulations in respect of anti-alcohol and illicit drugs as well as Motorsport UK processes for anti-alcohol and illicit drugs testing; (G) nominate one member of their Team as the Team Representative at each meeting including but not exclusively for the purpose of all judicial proceedings at Events and who shall be present at all judicial proceedings concerning drivers entered under that Team licence in substitution for the driver Parent/Legal Guardian.
It is recommended the Team has: (a) a designated team member as a 1st 4Sport, Level 2 qualified coach; (b) a designated UKAD Certified Advisor, and (c) be responsible for carrying out and documenting a risk assessment of their activities; (risk assessment management tool available) Teams are reminded of Kart Race Yearbook Appendix 4,B12 – Commercial enterprises should be aware of Health and Safety at Work legislation and provide a minimum of two 6kg foam or powder extinguishers to be placed at the entrance(s) of the awning.
